Randomness

Our four year old likes to talk a lot. So today we were out getting birthday balloons...our little guy turned one this week...and our four year old said something like, God can get balloons when he wants. So I told him that I didn't think that God cared much about balloons. To which he replies, "what if its His birthday?" I didn't know what to say, and was trying to hold back some laughter. Finally a though hit me. So I told him, God doesn't have a birthday. God always was, so He doesn't have a birthday.

From time to time we talk about history around the dinner table. So the little guys pick up some history, but not always a time line of history. So our four year old told us that he had seen a swordfish when the Japanese were dropping bombs. :) Which after some laughter, he said he was in Mommy's belly when they dropped bombs.

Home pregnancy tests...you can find anything on the internet!!! I was looking to see if you could make a homemade pregnancy test. I found out that you can use...drumroll please...dandelion leaves!!! I might have to try that one someday. I wonder if it works. Well, I found some other things to make your own test. I am not endorsing any of these, but you can read about them here.

I found how to make bouncy balls. Our kids love these things. So I am planning to give it a try to see how it works. It looks like a lot of fun. I'll post some pictures if they turn out.

  1. I love your random posts!! Kids questions/thoughts are so fun to hear. By the way, let me know if the bouny balls turn out!! I tried to make some, but they never hardened enough to actually bounce :( The color mixture was neat though. Take care!!

  2. Hi Tracey
Thanks for stopping by. I tried the ball, but they didn't turn out. They definitely hardened but they turned out flat and wouldn't roll into a ball. The pieces were just falling apart. It was a big dissappointment. But I am planning to play around with it and see if I can get the mixture to turn into a ball next time. I'll let you know if I get it to work.

  3. Aw, that's too bad about the bouncy balls. I'll keep an eye out for another recipe too.

Thank you for your sweet comments about my cat too. It was so hard to lost a pet friend of so many years, but he lived a long and good life. He was such a gentle one. Take care.
