that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

Typhoon Songda

We had our first big typhoon. We have lived on this island for about three years and this was the first big one we have had. There have been some smaller ones, but this one was big. I have to say it was a little scary too. The wind was loud! Our littlest guy came and laid down by me and hid under a blanket. We were without power for 15 hours. But praise the Lord no one was hurt and nothing of ours blew away. A lot of sheds were destroyed and trees...whole trees uprooted. I thought I would share some pictures of after the typhoon.
                                                        Some garbage by our fence.
That black and white stuff was part of someone's roof.

This is the bottom of a  tree that was uprooted.
The aftermath of the storm in the "jungle".

  1. So glad you weren't hurt! We just had a tornado scare 2 nights ago where we waited it out in the basement through a violent thunderstorm. It was a little scary, but mostly tree branch damage but heard later a small tornado did go through but touched down 10 miles away. Phew!
